About Us
As a college financial planner, my goal is to help my clients navigate the ever-changing world of higher education, assist in the school-selection process, and find cost-effective ways to pay for college.
As a professional, I have worked at several institutions in higher education. Most recently, I was Senior Associate Director of Financial Aid at a university in Rhode Island. In that capacity, I worked one-on-one with prospective families, helping them understand the financial aid process and guiding them through the financial implications of their decision. In addition, I recently served as President of RIASFAA, the Rhode Island Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators.
My career began in higher ed, but took a few turns, and has included business development at a telecommunications company and managing an art gallery in Newport, RI. Even during times when I was doing other non-profit and commercial work, I found myself frequently answering questions from family and friends on college-related issues. Over time, I’ve realized what I find most fulfilling is helping students find that ‘best-fit’ school and giving parents the confidence in their ability to afford it.
I know that choosing a college is stressful and complex. Parents and their college-bound students frequently find themselves in an emotional place when faced with the multitude of decisions they must make during the senior year of high school. As a college financial planner, it’s a privilege to play a role in easing families’ emotional strain and finding ways to lessen the financial pressure that results from paying for a college education.
Education: I have a B.A. in International Studies from Bryant University and a A.S. in Business Administration from Bryant University. I also hold the Series 65 license issued by NASAA (The North American Securities Administrators Association).
